Welcome Home to the Young Lawyers Section (YLS)!

This year, we invite you to help build on the foundation established by the first 150 years of the Chicago Bar Association’s existence, and to help shape the YLS’ legacy by sharing your story and experiences. Please also take advantage of the great opportunities for professional growth, community service, and networking that we offer to our approximately 7,000 members across the Chicagoland area. This year, the YLS will offer nearly 30 substantive committees, implement over 50 member and public service projects, and host numerous seminars, networking events, and well-being workshops.

Whether you are a law student or newer attorney, the YLS is a valuable resource for your personal and professional development. Consider attending a committee meeting, seminar, or a social, or volunteer with a member or public service project in order to enhance your career. As a YLS member, you can always reach out to me or any member of our Executive Council with any programming or event ideas, or if you want to get more involved with the YLS or CBA, whether at the committee level or specific programs or events. Get involved and lead through service while improving your legal career and professional network! Make your professional and personal Ifs Become Whens this bar year, and I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming YLS event.

If you have questions about the YLS, please contact Emily Anderson, YLS Director at (312) 554-2070, or contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Kenneth A. Matuszewski
2024-2025 Chair
