The CBA offers a variety of programs and resources to support lawyer health and wellness. CBA members are welcome to join the Well-being and Mindfulness committee to attend regular meetings focused on lawyer health and wellness topics. Email committees@chicagobar.org to join a CBA committee. 

Member Well-Being and Professional Development Coaching Sessions

The CBA is pleased to offer free, 20-minute Well-Being and Professional Development Coaching sessions with our featured well-being coach, Jonathan Beitner, JD, CPC. During the session, members can choose from the following topics to cover with Jonathan: Burnout, Setting Boundaries, Stress Management, Work/Life Balance, Building Resilience, Time Management, Fostering More Positivity/Optimism, Practicing Mindfulness, and Effective Goal Setting. The sessions will take place via Zoom. To attend you must have Zoom Desktop Client (https://zoom.us/support/download) on your PC or Mac).

Featured CBA Well-Being Coach

Jonathan Beitner is the Founder of Beitner Coaching & Consulting.  Jonathan is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to the intersection of professional development and well-being.  He helps individuals identify and achieve their goals, and works with firms, law schools, and Fortune 500 companies to help their lawyers, students, and staff be more productive, happier, and healthier through individual coaching and evidence-based group programming.

As a co-creator of the American Bar Associationā€™s Well-Being Pledge, a lead organizer for the inaugural Well-Being Week in Law, and one of the drafters of the Mental Health and Substance Use CLE requirement in Illinois, Jonathan has experience creating and implementing industry-wide initiatives to help lawyers thrive.  He also serves as the Featured Well-Being Coach for the Chicago Bar Association.

Jonathan previously practiced as a commercial litigator at an Am Law 100 firm and clerked for federal judges on the Sixth Circuit and Eastern District of Michigan after graduating from the University of Michigan Law School.
