SPEAKER: Lon D. Meltesen, Chief Legal Counsel for the Illinois Department of Human Rights

Join us as Lon Meltesen addresses the following: a) Explain IDHR's worksharing agreements with the EEOC and HUD; b) Explain some of the differences between State and Federal law in the areas of employment and housing discrimination; c) give his top ten practice tips for attorneys practicing before IDHR; and d) provide any legal updates to the IHRA or our rules and regulations.

Mr. Meltesen earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, graduating with honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif. Prior to obtaining his law degree, he attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Political Science. Prior to being named Chief Legal Counsel, Mr. Meltesen worked for the Department of Human Rights as a Staff Attorney for eleven years.
