The convergence of technology and food has fostered innovations on various levels, from combating world hunger to redefining norms in fine dining. With these changes come concerns: How can we encourage innovation in this field? Should patents and copyrights be used to protect food innovations?

The Gastro-IP Law Symposium will be an open forum for lawyers, academics, chefs, and corporate representatives to come together to discuss the role of intellectual property law in food. Some of the topics for discussion will be the intellectual property issues regarding diner's pictures of food, food based TV shows, food magazines & cook books, social media, and the role of organics and GMOs at the restaurant and global levels.

A complimentary reception with food and drink will immediately follow the seminar.Seminar speakers are listed below.
